Plain terms for a small studio. Using the site, booking a conversation, or buying something means you accept what is below.

Booking a conversation

The first conversation is free, lasts about half an hour, and carries no obligation on either side. It is a conversation about learning, not a lesson.

• A time is only held once you confirm your email address. Until then it stays available to others.
• An unconfirmed time is released automatically after a short wait, so it does not sit blocked.
• If you cannot make it, use the link on your booking page to give the time back. It costs nothing and lets somebody else have it.
• The studio may need to move or decline a time — you will be told, and can choose another.

Lessons

Lesson times, length, and fees are agreed in that first conversation, and are a separate arrangement from this site. This page does not set them.

• Invoices are issued for the agreed period and are due by the date shown on them.
• If a lesson is cancelled by the studio it is rescheduled or not charged.
• Notice for a lesson you cannot attend is agreed between you and the teacher, not fixed here.

The store

• Prices are shown in the currency on the product page and include what the page says they include.
• An order is accepted when payment succeeds. If something is out of stock after you have paid, you are refunded in full.
• Instruments are described as accurately as possible. Wood varies, and photographs are of the item or one like it — the product page says which.
• Changed your mind? You have 14 days from delivery to tell us. The instrument comes back unused and as it was sent, and you pay the return shipping. The price of the instrument is refunded; the shipping you paid to receive it is not — unless it never left here, in which case everything comes back.
• Faulty or wrongly described? You have 365 days from delivery. Everything is refunded, shipping included, and the return is paid for at this end. Get in touch and it is sorted out.
• An instrument that comes back worth less than it left — a mark on the bowl, changed strings, a missing case — may have that difference taken off, and you will be told exactly what for. Playing it to make up your mind is not wear; you are meant to try it.
• Refunds go back to the card you paid with, within 14 days of the instrument arriving here. It can take a few days more to show on your statement, which is your bank's part rather than ours.

Payment is handled by Stripe. This site never sees your card number.

Your account

• Keep your password to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
• Give real details. A booking made with an invented name or address may be cancelled.
• An account may be closed if it is used to abuse the site or anyone using it.
• You can ask for your account to be removed at any time. See the privacy page for what happens to records that must be kept.

Recordings, photographs and writing

The music, recordings, photographs and writing on this site belong to Aydin Shaterian. You are welcome to link to any of it and to share it as it appears here. Republishing it as your own, or using it commercially, needs permission — ask, and the answer is often yes.

Tracks played through the site are hosted by YouTube or Spotify and are subject to their terms as well as these.

What this site does not promise

The site is kept running and accurate as far as practicable, but it is not guaranteed to be available without interruption, and the studio is not responsible for losses arising from it being unavailable. Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes, and getting in touch

These terms may change; the date at the top changes with them, and a booking or order is governed by the terms in place when you made it.
